Business Unit: Corporate - Addison TX

FSLA: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Purchasing Manager

 

Job Description - Procurement Specialist:

We are a leading distributer of fluid power, motion control, pneumatic, and hydraulic products and the purpose of this role is the daily execution of the procurement and inventory management process.  This involves creating methods and techniques to assure improved customer service levels, greater efficiency and effectiveness in the purchasing function.  This individual should be a detail-oriented team player who possesses basic negotiation skills and the ability to work independently as needed.  This role will require strong interpersonal skills as they will need to communicate with executives, suppliers, vendors, customer service representatives, and other associates.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and Issue of daily purchase orders
  • Modify inventory master and location fields including but not limited to:
    1. Forecast Monthly Demand adjustments
    2. Review and adjust minimum / maximum stock levels
    3. Maintain accurate item list prices and replacement costs
    4. Establish new item vendor records
  • Develop and maintain exceptional vendor / stakeholder relations
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues or concerns
  • Maintain proper documentation through SharePoint, Enlighten, or other sources
  • Selection of qualified alternate suppliers (when applicable)
  • Coordinate with leads/managers, sales, and suppliers to manage product requirements

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination of vendor returns
  • Improve inventory levels across all locations through strategic sourcing
  • Expedite purchase orders when needed

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Purchase Order/Documentation management
  • 5+ years’ purchasing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory management methods and techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organization and time management skills – must be able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
